For a long time, the Peruvian redtails were
erroneously referred to as
Boa c. ortonii.

We now know, that the boas from the
region around Iquitos and Pucallpa
are
Boa c. constrictor, distribution
area Peru.

The basic coloration of the Peruvian redtail boas is mostly yellowish, some specimens like the one in the photo above have a touch of orange. The tails show a shining red color.
