Boa constrictor longicauda Zeros™ for sale

Offspring July 13, 2010 - The day the Zero Longicaudas came into being

Actually we always bargained for (or hoped for) that this would happen. Because when one is breeding boas in a somewhat larger scale and has access to many different bloodlines the odds are that in the long run two special genes will finally meet and create something new and special.

(As it was in the Leopard boas of Hans Winner, for instance)

On July 13, 2010 Fortuna gave us a big fat smile.

A litter of Boa c. longicauda was born in our facility. Three babies are utterly unique in color and pattern as well. We haven't seen such boas before, neither in Longicaudas nor in other Boa constrictor subspecies.

We call these boas Zero - Longicaudas (briefly: Zeros™).

Boa c. longicauda - possible het for Zeros™ + Zeros™ female

The number of these boas in relation to the litter and the fact that all other babies look absolutely normal leads to the conclusion that this is a genetic matter and that the aberration will be passed on to the future offspring.

It is a safe assumption that two thirds of the other boas from this litter have also inherited this trait. They are possible Hets für Zero and furthermore heterozygous for anerythrism (black/white) because the father is of the black/white variant.

If you think that we sound like morph breeders: These animals are purebred Boa c. longicauda which evolved from the mating of utterly unrelated animals from different bloodlines who had never been bred to one another before. No mix, no inbreeding!

We will keep the Zeros™ and some of the normal looking siblings (this is going to be a new, worldwide significant breeding project).

The rest is available now.

The animals are stunningly beautiful black/yellow Longicaudas (just take a look at the parents) with the focal point on black. They are heterozygous for black/white and furthermore possible hets for Zeros™.

Boa c. longicauda offspring July 6, 2011 - Zeros™

Unfortunately the litter did consists of only 3 specimens, but interestingly two of them are 100% Zeros™ (the other one is a normal looking possible het).

This is the final proof that the Zeros™ strain is genetically determined!

We don't sell any specimen from the offspring 2011 in order to put the Zeros™ projekt on a robust foundation.

However, we have decided to sell our last holdback possible het female. She is the most beautiful specimen from the offspring 2010!

The female has an extraordinary beautiful pattern. Take a look at it:
